A new report by the Brookings Institute measures the devastating impacts COVID-19 has had on America’s creative economy. The report includes state-by-state breakdowns and estimates impacts on creative job losses in various industries, such as film, advertising, and fashion, as well as creative occupations such as musicians, artists, performers, and designers. “We estimate losses in sales of goods and services, employment, and earnings for creative industries and creative occupations at the national, state, and metropolitan levels.”
According to the report, Oregon’s estimated losses for creative industries from April to July 2020, included 43,332 jobs and more than $1.6 billion in sales.
